When a foundation experiences movement, it can mean damaged plumbing, cracked sheetrock, doors that won’t close or a sagging roof. Less than 10 years ago, a structure with a foundation problem was almost impossible to sell. Mortgage lenders would not consider a home with a damaged foundation or slab and financing for the homebuyer was non-existent. With today’s advanced methods, a damaged foundation can be repaired and repairs are recognized by the F.H.A., V.A., and other conventional money lenders. A building with a properly repaired foundation is as valuable as a house with a new foundation. A house that is as good of an investment as any other.
